Abstract

Summary

Rejection and inaccuracy of insulin administration caused uncontrolled blood glucose levels, thus increasing the risk of complications that worsen the health status of patients and even lead to death. In other hand, nurses need to educate patients to perform self-insulin injections. The aim of this study is to analyze the application of self-insulin injections education in improving knowledge and skills of insulin injections. Using quasi eksperimen with pretest-posttest control
group design, a total of 24 respondents participated in this study.Univariate and bivariate analyzes were using the statistical of test t-test and annova. The study conclude that self-insulin injection education effects to increase knowledge and injection skilled in type 2 diabetic’s patient with p :0,002, ∝ < 0,05. Hospitals and primary health care are advised to implement self-insulin injection education to increase quality of life diabetics patient
