Abstract

Summary

Hemodialysis is one of the management options for patients with chronic renal failure (CRF). The hemodialysis action in CRF patients is not a healing action and restores kidney function at times, but hemodialysis only takes over as a function of excretion of metabolic waste in the body. Hemodialysis action performed in patients with chronic kidney failure in addition to providing benefits, on the other hand, can cause health problems. One problem that can occur in patients
is changes in intradialytic blood pressure. Complications that occur can lead to new, more complex problems including discomfort, increase stress, affect the quality of life, and worsen the patient's condition. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of intradialytic exercise and progressive relaxation in stabilizing blood pressure in hemodialysis patients. The method used with PIO problem analysis is to select information in determining effective interventions.
Interventions were carried out on 7 hemodialysis patients with pre-post blood pressure evaluation of intervention and intradialytic monitoring. The results showed a change in the patient's blood pressure after intradialytic exercise and progressive relaxation for 3 meetings. The application of evidence-based nursing intradialytic exercise and progressive relaxation in hemodialysis patients can stabilize blood pressure and patients can resolve complaints independently.
